Responsibility for PFAS matters is shared by relevant portfolios, including Defence, Infrastructure, Health, Environment, Agriculture, Attorney Generals and Finance.

The PFAS Taskforce operated as a discrete entity from 2017 to 2022 to support whole-of-government coordination and oversight of Australian Government responses to PFAS contamination.
